A Call for Submissions
What We Publish
MedHum.org welcomes original essays, reviews, and interviews that explore all topics related to medical humanities. We are especially interested in thoughtful writing that encourages empathy, dialogue, and deeper understanding across disciplines, as well as work that challenges conventional boundaries of academic and creative practice.
Contributor Benefits
Contributors benefit from editorial guidance, increased visibility among an interdisciplinary readership, and a well-structured platform for sharing their work. MedHum.org eliminates the technical complexities of website management while providing a carefully curated space that supports clear presentation and meaningful engagement within a focused intellectual community.
Length & Style
Most submissions should be between 500 and 1,000 words. Clear, engaging, and accessible writing is encouraged for both academic and general audiences. Contributors may include artwork suggestions, brief quotations or excerpts from literary and scholarly works when appropriate under fair use guidelines under U.S. copyright law.
Editorial Review
All submissions are reviewed by members of our Editorial Board. Selected pieces may be edited for clarity, style, structure, length, and formatting in collaboration with the author before publication. Our goal is to preserve the author’s voice while ensuring coherence and readability within the publication.
How to Submit
If you are interested in contributing, please begin by introducing yourself and sharing a short description or draft of your proposed piece. We welcome both completed essays and works in progress, and we look forward to hearing your voice and perspective.
